Professional Exchanges

THIS SECTION CONTAINS NOTICES from individuals interested in a short-term swap, sabbatical or holiday exchange with counterparts in other Anglican churches. Examples would include a member of the clergy in Canada who wishes to arrange an exchange with a member of the clergy in New Zealand or an organist in a Church of England parish who wants to exchange with an organist in the States.

If you email us, giving us the particulars of your desired situation, we shall be glad to list your individual notices at Anglicans Online. People who are interested in the possibility of an exchange with you will contact you directly, so be certain that you do not mind our publicising your email contact information with your notice. We'll keep your listing in this section for at least 60 days from the time it is first posted, or longer if that seems appropriate.

If you are considering an exchange that would require a good deal of planning in advance by both parties, we would urge you to email your information to Anglicans Online as soon as you have the details determined.

Please note at the moment we cannot accept listings for this section from individuals wanting to exchange houses for a holiday or situations-vacant notices. We are at present restricting the section to professional exchanges only.

Priest exchanges

USA-->England, 2012: Dates flexible
I am Rector of a small historic Episcopal church in the ante-bellum capital of Georgia, U.S.A. (just about geographic center of the state). I am looking for an exchange for up to three months in 2012 in an English parish with access to sites significant to Anglicanism and near a university or seminary that would have opportunity for continuing education. I have a three-bedroom house and two vehicles. Need housing for self and wife and vehicle. Contact thepriest@windstream.net.

Maryland USA -> Dublin, Ireland in 2012
A priest in the Diocese of Easton (Maryland) would like exchange with priest of a parish church in or near Dublin, for four to six weeks in 2012. He would prefer no weekday responsibilities except in emergencies. He would require a house or apartment suitable for two (with room for two guests) and the use of a car. His church is in Trappe, Maryland, a small town of mostly farmers and waterman close to the Eastern Shore, on the Chesapeake Bay. House is seven miles from the church in a quiet town of 25,000 people, many retired. The house is one floor, with three bedrooms and 2.5 full baths, with air cooling and central heating. Car would be available. Washington DC, Annapolis, and Baltimore are easy day trips. Duties include one Eucharist on Sundays and, as needed, pastoral visits. Fore more information, contact Gordon Morrison, frgordon2@goeaston.net.

England -> Europe (or possibly elsewhere)
Chaplain at a large prestigious independent school in Crowthorne, Berkshire, UK, seeks exchange during UK school holidays, including during the 2012 Olympics. Four bedroom house, 2.5 bathrooms, sleeps eight comfortably. In the heart of the Thames Valley. Walk to train station, easy access many educational institutions, i.e. Univ. of Reading, Surrey (Guildford), TVU, Oxford, and of course those in London. May be duties to perform, by prior arrangement and agreement. Happy to undertake duties at/during exchange. For more information, please email CAGNatwellingtoncollege.org.uk

USA (Florida) -> anywhere outside the States
Florida home with pool available for exchange. Will consider anywhere outside the US. Located in charming town of Venice, Florida (south of Sarasota). Short distance to beach and quaint downtown. Great community theatre, world-class museums, gorgeous gardens and Disney World all within driving distance. Three bedrooms, two baths, heated pool. No smoking. Flexible on dates, length of time and pastoral responsibilities. Contact lisabhamilton@aol.com.
